How to request time off, check your leave balances, and track the status of your requests

The Leave page is where you submit time-off requests and track their status. You can also see how many days you have remaining for each leave type.


Checking Your Leave Balances

  1. Tap Leave in the bottom navigation.
  2. Scroll to the Leave Balances section.
  3. Each leave type (Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Personal Leave, etc.) shows:

Balances update automatically when a request is approved.


Requesting Time Off

  1. Tap Leave in the bottom navigation.
  2. Tap the Request Time Off button.
  3. A form slides up. Fill in the details:

Leave typeSelect the appropriate type (Annual, Sick, Personal, etc.)
Start dateFirst day of your leave
End dateLast day of your leave; set the same as start for a single day
Half dayToggle on if you only need half a day off
ReasonOptional note for your manager
  1. Tap Submit.

Your request is created with a Pending status and sent to your manager for approval.

Shift Conflict Warning

If your requested dates overlap with a scheduled shift, a yellow warning banner appears before you submit:

"You have shifts scheduled during this period. Your manager will be notified."

You can still submit the request. Your manager will see the conflict when they review it.

Eligibility Restrictions

Some leave types are only available after you have worked for a certain period (for example, Annual Leave may require 1 year of service). If a leave type is greyed out in the dropdown, it is not yet available to you based on your hire date.


Tracking Your Requests

After submitting, your requests appear in three tabs:

Each request card shows the leave type, date range, number of days, and any notes from your manager.

Approval Notifications

When your manager approves or denies a request, you will receive:

  • A push notification (if notifications are enabled)
  • A pop-up in the app the next time you open it, showing the decision and any manager notes

Cancelling a Request

You can cancel a pending request before it is approved:

  1. Tap the request card in the Pending tab.
  2. Tap Cancel Request.
  3. Confirm the cancellation.

Cancelling a request does not affect your leave balance. You cannot cancel a request that has already been approved; contact your manager if you need to reverse an approved leave.


Leave History

To see a full history of all your past leave requests:

  1. Tap Leave in the bottom navigation.
  2. Tap History at the top of the page.

The history view shows every request (approved, denied, and cancelled) with dates, duration, and status.
